Let's be honest, we've all been there. That simmering frustration, that creeping annoyance, that full-blown rage-quit moment sparked by a seemingly endless stream of frustrating gameplay in Enlisted. While the game boasts impressive visuals and a vast array of historical weaponry, its inherent flaws are enough to drive even the most seasoned gamer to the brink.

The Grind Never Ends

One of the biggest offenders is the sheer grind. Unlocking new units, weapons, and upgrades feels less like a rewarding journey and more like slogging through a never-ending, monotonous task. The progression system, while seemingly straightforward, becomes incredibly tedious, demanding an unreasonable amount of time and effort for minimal reward. You're constantly chasing that next upgrade, that next coveted weapon, only to find yourself facing the same repetitive gameplay loop. It's exhausting.

Unbalanced Gameplay

Beyond the grind, the game suffers from significant balance issues. Certain units and weapons are undeniably overpowered, creating a frustrating experience for those facing them. This imbalance creates a sense of unfairness, undermining the competitive aspect of the game and making matches feel less about skill and more about who got lucky enough to unlock the currently meta-defining equipment. This not only discourages fair play, but also diminishes the overall enjoyment of the experience.

Technical Issues

While the graphics are impressive, Enlisted is far from perfect on the technical front. Lag, glitches, and other technical issues frequently disrupt gameplay, leading to frustrating deaths and missed opportunities. These issues aren't merely minor inconveniences; they actively detract from the overall gaming experience, turning what should be moments of intense action into sources of irritation. This lack of polish shows a lack of refinement, something that detracts from the potential of an otherwise interesting concept.

The Verdict: Potential, but Needs Serious Work

Enlisted has the potential to be a truly great game. Its historical setting, diverse roster of units, and impressive visuals are undeniable strengths. However, the crippling grind, unbalanced gameplay, and persistent technical issues severely hamper the overall experience. Until these fundamental problems are addressed, the frustration is likely to outweigh the enjoyment for many players. The developers need to seriously re-evaluate the game's core mechanics and address the critical issues that are currently driving players away. Until then, my controller remains angrily placed on the desk.
