Let's be honest, the hype surrounding Go/Od Fellas bagels has been deafening. Social media is awash with pictures of perfectly browned, seemingly-perfect bagels, promising a taste of New York-style perfection. But my recent experience left me profoundly underwhelmed, and I'm here to tell you why Go/Od Fellas bagels, at least in my experience, simply suck.

The Promise vs. The Reality

The marketing paints a picture of artisanal craftsmanship, fresh ingredients, and a doughy, chewy texture that will transport you straight to a New York City street corner. The reality, however, was far less glamorous.

Texture Troubles

The bagel itself was disappointingly dense. Rather than the soft, airy interior promised, mine was tough and lacked the desirable chewiness. It felt heavy in the hand and lacked any real springiness – more like a dense bread roll than a proper bagel.

Flavor Fail

The advertised flavors were subtle at best, almost non-existent. The lack of pronounced taste made the already underwhelming texture even more disappointing. It simply didn't deliver on the promised flavor profile. It tasted… bland.

Service Slip-Up (Minor but Notable)

While not the primary reason for my negative review, the service was also somewhat lacking. The staff were polite enough, but there was a noticeable lack of enthusiasm, almost like they were going through the motions. This minor detail added to the overall sense of disappointment.

The Verdict: A Bagel Letdown

Go/Od Fellas bagels failed to live up to the considerable hype surrounding them. The dense texture, lackluster flavor, and slightly underwhelming service culminated in a significantly disappointing experience. While others may have had positive experiences, my encounter left me unconvinced. For a better bagel, I suggest exploring other options. There are plenty of other bakeries out there that deliver on the promise of a truly delicious bagel. This one, unfortunately, missed the mark entirely.
