Loosies Pizza

Loosies Pizza. The name itself conjures images of late-night slices, boisterous crowds, and that unmistakable New York City pizza vibe. But does this newcomer live up to the hype? We ventured out to find out.

The Atmosphere: Casual and Energetic

Stepping into Loosies is like stepping onto a bustling street corner in Manhattan. The décor is intentionally raw, featuring exposed brick, simple tables, and a buzzing energy that's both inviting and authentic. It's the kind of place where you can grab a quick bite or linger over a conversation, equally comfortable for a solo diner or a large group. The soundtrack, a blend of classic rock and contemporary pop, adds to the lively atmosphere.

The Pizza: Thin Crust Perfection (Mostly)

Loosies prides itself on its thin-crust pizza, and for the most part, it delivers. The crust boasts a satisfying crispness, achieving that perfect balance between chewy and crunchy. The sauce, a simple yet flavorful tomato base, isn't overly sweet or acidic. However, while the cheese is adequately melted and gooey, it could use a bit more oomph in terms of flavor.

We sampled several varieties, including the classic Margherita, a pepperoni masterpiece, and a more adventurous white pizza. While each pie possessed the aforementioned qualities of a good thin-crust pizza, the standout was undeniably the Margherita—a testament to the quality of the simple ingredients. The pepperoni pizza, although tasty, lacked the distinct spicy kick we expected. The white pizza, topped with garlic, ricotta, and mozzarella, proved a creamy and satisfying alternative, but perhaps a tad heavy for a thin-crust offering.

Service and Value: Friendly and Fair

The staff at Loosies are friendly and attentive, providing prompt service without being intrusive. The prices are on par with other pizzerias in the area, offering a decent value for the quality and quantity of the food. The speed of service was impressive, even during peak hours.

The Verdict: Worth a Try

Loosies Pizza offers a fun, energetic environment and serves up generally delicious thin-crust pizza. While certain aspects could be improved—primarily the boldness of the cheese and the spice level of the pepperoni—it’s a solid addition to the local food scene. If you're looking for a casual spot with a genuine New York feel and decent pizza, Loosies is worth checking out. Just be prepared for a potential wait during busy periods!
