The phrase "step-sister" often conjures up images from fairy tales – Cinderella's wicked stepsisters, or perhaps a more modern portrayal rife with sibling rivalry. But my reality is far different. My stepsister, Sarah, isn't just a family member bound by circumstance; she's my sister, plain and simple.
