Huskers Look to Bounce Back After Tough Loss

The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team is gearing up for their next match after a tough loss to arch-rivals, Wisconsin Badgers, last weekend. Despite a strong start to the season, the Huskers were edged out in a five-set thriller, 3-2.

Nebraska Volleyball Team Stats

The Huskers are currently ranked 5th in the Big Ten standings, with a 6-4 conference record and 14-6 overall. They boast a strong offense, led by sophomore outside hitter, Madi Kubik, who averages 3.73 kills per set. Junior libero, Kenzie Maloney, has been outstanding on defense, racking up 4.17 digs per set.

Coach Cook's Game Plan

Coach John Cook attributed the loss to Wisconsin to unforced errors and sloppy play. "We had too many errors in key moments, and it cost us the match," Cook said in a post-game interview. "We need to work on our discipline and focus if we want to compete with the top teams in the conference."

The Huskers will look to regroup and refocus as they face off against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday. Coach Cook has been emphasizing the importance of consistent play and limiting errors in practice this week.

Nebraska Volleyball Schedule

  • Friday: vs. Iowa Hawkeyes (7:00 PM CT)
  • Saturday: vs. Illinois Fighting Illini (7:00 PM CT)
  • October 27: vs. Purdue Boilermakers (7:00 PM CT)
