I am so excited to finally share Esti’s nursery with you! This room was a labor of love and it couldn’t have turned out more perfect for our little girl!
Originally the room was the VONBON studio. The business was born there, so it was only fitting that we transformed it into a new space for our new baby. Boy, did we have some transforming to do. It housed a full gallery wall, three sewing machines and shelving units stacked with product. You can see it here, as it was featured on The Glitter Guide in January of 2014.
The first thing I did was start pinning! Check out my nursery board here for your own dose of inspiration. Once I had a sense of the elements I wanted I created my own inspiration board, seen in my previous post. Next was moving out all of the VONBON sewing machines, shelving units and painting the walls. We chose Stonington Gray from Benjamin Moore, the perfect color to give the room a soothing touch and allow all of the white elements to pop! I had so much fun collecting little items here and there, that all came together to create such a special space.
Long before I was pregnant I knew I wanted to have a cloud mobile in the nursery. Living in Vancouver, clouds become a part of everyday life it seems! Jahje from Baby Jives Co. was kind enough to custom make this one for me, adding blush and gray rain drops and two gold stars. Esti’s name is short for Estella, which means star.
My good friend, Jessica, from Kardz Kouture, surprised me with this little custom framed heart with Esti’s name on it. It was the perfect addition to the other beautiful candle holders and gold topped vase that I purchased from The Cross Decor and Design. The porcelain bunny is actually a night light that gives off the softest glow, ideal for late night feedings in the glider.
The gold shelving unit was an Ikea hack that we recycled from the studio. Sprayed it down with a fresh coat of gold paint and filled it with books (including her stylish baby book), blankets, a camera, shoes, shoes and more shoes!! As you can see, Esti has quite the shoe collection already. Our favorite leather moccasins from Minimoc were too cute to keep in the closet, so they are permanently on display. These sweet little cowboy boots were purchased long before Esti was born. I found them in a thrift shop in Washington and couldn’t leave the store without them.
E is for Esti! The custom painted letter “E” was created by the talented East and Acland. Their hand painted solid wood letters make the cutest nursery accents or baby gifts for expectant friends. The bottom basket holds a variety of organic cotton VONBON blankets. I must say, these come in quite handy! We use them for swaddling, tummy time and as burping cloths. They are the perfect multi-use blanket.
The vintage dresser was handed down to me from my Mom. It had been used as my changing table when I was a baby, and we also used it as our desert table during my Hello World baby shower featured on Style Me pretty last week. Above it hangs a print that was created by Studio 86 Creative Design and displayed at the shower. Every time I look at it, I am reminded of all the love that was shared that day as we celebrate the nearing arrival of our little girl.
I fell inlove with this Jenny Lind Crib. It’s spindles are the perfect mix of modern yet vintage. Adorned with our custom Yarning Made heart blanket and Mini Boheme handmade mouse. This little doll has better accessories than I do!
Above the crib hangs the most delicate hand made mobile, custom created just for us, by Miko of Coral and Cloud. The mobile spins so gently in the air, and I absolutely love it’s simplicity.
The finishing touch; the custom feather decals that cascade down and around the crib. I had so much fun designing these from our original VONBON feather print for Danielle at Urban Walls. Purchase them for your own room here!
This room has become so special and I look forward to Esti growing into it and making it her own.

Beautiful, so soft and delicate!
I have the same Baby Jives cloud mobile for my now 5 month old baby boy, however it’s sadly still wrapped! How did you install it, if I may ask? Hubby refuses to put a hook in the ceiling? Thanks!

Hi Nataly! You need to hang it ASAP! Every time I look at our’s, I love it even more.
I used a picture hook that I painted white to match the wall color. It’s actually hanging off a bulkhead that is above the chair in her room. Our ceilings are solid concrete, so it would have been a big job for me to drill into it and set a hook. It just worked out that we were able to hang it from the bulkhead over the glider.
